Description: (a) interdisciplinary approach to understanding the societies, cultures and economies of the region surrounding the Baltic Sea; (b) multidisciplinary programme with strong connections to basic and applied research, environmental assessment and economic life; (c) enables students to choose programmes fitting in with previous studies and personal interests within the broad field of information technology, eg software engineering or business-oriented IT management; (d) advanced training in social sciences, to enable students to apply the tools of research on institutions to the modelling of real-world problems; (e) programme intended for non-native Finnish speakers who have a Bachelor's degree in Finnish language or other Finno-Ugric languages and adequate proficiency in Finnish language. The aim of the programme is to deepen students' theoretical and practical Finnish language skills and to get them acquainted with the Finnish culture, linguistics and Finno-Ugristics. The programme aims to train mainly specialists of Finnish language and culture as well as Finno-Ugric linguistics; (f) for the development of qualifications necessary to work as researcher or specialist in national and international projects.

Academic requirements: undergraduate university degree equivalent to the Finnish Bachelor's degree in the relevant field required.
